Hi there, I’m Ben.

A bit about me…

I’ve done the big agency thing, heading up multi-national campaigns. 
I’ve also done the small agency thing, bringing a safe pair of hands to the leadership team.

What I’m really good at is making complex things simple. 

It can be the square cubage of the latest Harley-Davidson engine, or the ins-and-outs of the Second Charge mortgage market, if it doesn’t mean something to the man in the street I haven’t done my job.

When I’m the leader of a team I think it's my job to create enough space, time and briefs to do excellent work, and then inspire my team to make the best work of their careers. 

When I’m not huddled in a darkened edit suite you can usually find me in a kitchen. I run GlutFood – Supper clubs and education around food sustainability and seasonality.

Recent Work History

Jan 2021 - Current - Fox + Hare - Senior Creative + Head of Culture

My job at F+H essentially broke into two parts: develop and deliver.

I was brought in to help lead and develop a very junior team, growing the department into a lean, mean, ideas machine. My ability to create the right atmosphere for people to thrive was recognised by appointing me an additional title of Head of Culture.

With regards to delivery, I was often where the buck stopped. Having loads of experience in a surprising variety of areas, I was the one who made sure that the best possible work left the agency on-time, and on-brief. Sometimes this involved building processes, getting stuck into new business, or getting my hands dirty in production.

Jun 2018 - Jan 2021 - George & Dragon - Senior Creative

A return to Soho, but this time as a Senior Creative.

I honed my chops working on TV adverts, branded start-ups as diverse as charities and nut-milks and created nimble social campaigns for household brands. We helped the NCA stop gun crime, promoted Englishmen in New York, and pitched to the most prestigious venue in London. A real whirlwind of experience, it was great to learn from industry legends, and have the opportunity to take the reins.

Oct 2016 - Jun 2018 - MullenLowe London - Creative

I was hired at a time of change, as Profero was being absorbed into the MLL main company, I embodied the new desire for digital ideas rooted in strategic thinking. It was great to get experience heading up projects for Unilever behemoths like Persil & Cif, but I equally enjoyed the hands-on approach of clients like National Trust and ArtFund. For me, the biggest accolade was winning the Eurosport Digital account across Europe, an account that I then went on to lead.

Notable clients include: Harley-Davidson Worldwide, Unilever, Art Fund, Eurosport Digital, Diageo Portfolio etc.

2010 - 2016 - Various - Creative/Design/Production

I have had a chequered past in production working behind the camera/keyboard for some rather auspicious clients.

A few project highlights include but aren't limited to:
Flying around the world filming world-class kickboxers.
Helping launch the BTSport channel.
Working with photographer Rankin to make beauty films, and even a music video for Miley Cyrus.
Working on true crime documentaries for Channel 4 & 5.
